Hi, I’m Ashley. I know that identity matters.

Here’s a little bit about me:

I’m a white, college-educated, bisexual/queer, woman (she/her) trying to make sense of the world today.

I have a PhD in Clinical Sexology from Modern Sex Therapy Institutes, and I graduated from the University of South Florida in 2014 with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My undergraduate degree is from Stetson University (2008).

I’ve worked in sexual and reproductive health since 2008, including at Planned Parenthood (14 years), and in a community rape crisis center. I’ve been a feminist activist, and co-founded a grassroots nonprofit (St. Pete Women’s Collective/ Venus) that ran for five years in St. Petersburg, Florida. I’m the CEO and founder or Pro-Choice Therapists, an international membership and directory of pro-choice mental health providers. I’m an artist and dreamer, and believe in the power of the imagination to bring forth a better tomorrow.

I’ve facilitated countless community events (including #metoo and #timesup community events), therapy groups, and women’s empowerment retreats.

I’m curious about people, and I trust in the power of connection to bring about positive change.
